I have been working on a Christmas present for a very special little girl. It is a collection of Waldorf inspired felt fruits and vegetables for playtime. Below are pictures of my early forays into needle felting. Although needle felting is still a common felting technique, I still find myself most compelled to do wet felting as I usually do. Nevertheless, I am pleased with these results.

Putting the "functional" back into felt
For much of my "felting life" I have used wet felting techniques as an artistic medium in the creation of felt 'paintings'. Recently though, I have been working more functional pieces that I hope are every bit as appealing as those two dimensional works. To my delight, I have found a new function for my bowls - yarn bowls - at the suggestion of my co-worker. I am super excited at this newest use for my work.
